The Church of Panagia Evangelistria in Hora, the harbor and principal town, is well-known for its hallowed Greek Orthodox pilgrimage destination.
Tinos, however, is a wonderland of natural beauty after you leave the hordes in town, sprinkled with more than 40 marble-ornamented towns hiding in secret bays, on terraced hillsides, and above foggy slopes. Tinos has a long artistic legacy, particularly in marble carving, as evidenced by the sculptors’ settlement of Pyrgos, located near the marble quarries in the north.
